ABOUT
Camilo Sanabria is an acclaimed Colombian composer specialized in film and TV scoring. His musical work enriches the language of film scoring, blending it with sound worlds inspired by Latin American folk traditions and resulting in a contemporary cinematic voice that is uniquely his own. This distinctive voice has shaped the sound of award-winning films and series featured at Cannes, Venice and San Sebastián festivals, as well on platforms such as Netflix, HBO Max and Prime Video.
Throughout a career marked by constant development, he has received numerous awards, including a Latin Grammy (2025) for Best Music for Visual Media for the soundtrack of Netflix’s adaptation of Gabriel García Márquez’s celebrated masterpiece One Hundred Years of Solitude; three Macondo Awards (with seven nominations); two India Catalina Awards from FICCI Cartagena; and two awards at the 26th Cinespaña Festival in Toulouse. Earlier achievements include winning the Berlinale Talent Campus Film Score Competition in 2010, under the mentorship of Alexandre Desplat.
Sanabria has collaborated with leading directors across Latin America and Europe, creating scores that amplify narrative and immerse audiences in unique sonic worlds. His international credits include “Cuadrilatero” by Peruvian director Daniel Rodriguez, “I Will Be Murdered” by British director Justin Webster; “Eles transportan a morte” by Canary directors Samuel Delgado and Helena Girón; and “O Corno” by Galician director Jaione Camborda, which won the Golden Shell at the San Sebastián Film Festival on 2023.
